Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the career advancement of Graduate Primary‑School Teachers (Tutor Cadre) from Grade Level 16 to Grade Level 17, according to a statement issued by the State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya.

In the release, Mr Onasanya explained that “the upgrade is intended to eliminate stagnation at the top of the cadre, boost teacher’s morale and improve service delivery in the primary‑education system.”

The governor also sanctioned a consolidated salary structure for Head‑Teacher General, effectively raising their status within the civil service.

Onasanya said the decision follows a review of existing career‑progression frameworks and is aimed at enhancing learning outcomes.

He added that the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has been instructed to implement the new policy immediately.

The promotion aligns with the administration’s “ISEYA” pillar and underscores Ogun State’s ambition to become the nation’s education hub. Governor Abiodun’s administration remains committed to progressive policies that strengthen the education sector, and he urged teachers to maintain their dedication to efficient service delivery.
