Ogun Governor Signs ₦1.669trn 2026 Budget Into Law

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has signed the ₦1.669 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, marking a significant milestone in the state’s fiscal planning.

The budget, tagged the “Budget of Sustainable Legacy”, represents a 58% increase over the 2025 budget of ₦1.054 trillion.

Governor Abiodun assured residents of immediate implementation in order to improve revenue generation and expenditure.

“We are excited that Ogun State is making progress… This year, we are signing into law an appropriation of ₦1.669 trillion,” he said.

The Governor thanked the State House of Assembly for swift passage, saying their action demonstrates dedication to the state’s development.

Speaker Oludaisi Elemide said lawmakers rigorously scrutinized the bill to align it with Ogun’s needs. “A lot went into passing this bill… We thank God the Governor has signed it into law,” he said.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Assembly members and the State Executive Council.
